History Of Jaipur

Founder

The majestic city Jaipur is rich in culture and the home of several heritage sites was built in the year 1727 by the Rajput ruler Jai Singh ll. This ruler of Kachhwaha Rajput changed his capital from Amber to Jaipur and designed the city with a great interest. Without neglecting even a single aspect Jai Singh created the city to be a great architectural wonder that is perfectly built according to the Shilpa Sasthra of Indian culture.

The ruler even took a great care in constructing the security aspects along with the artistic constructions, all around the city which stand as the most spectacular sites. Due to this the city Jaipur is surrounded with numerous remarkable constructions. Even after Jai Singh all the other rulers like the Marathas, Jats who ruled the region maintained the tradition and glory of the city.

Before Independence

Though the rulers had better relation with the East India Company the city was named as Rajputana and was administered and supervised by the British during the freedom struggle.

Post Independence

After independence in the year 1956 the city glamorous city Jaipur became the capital of the dazzling state Rajasthan.
